Plot

A boy finds out he is an immortal being called Ajin, and the government seeks to track him down.

Bad Qualities

  1. The characters don't emote humanly enough. The cinematography also feels stiff.
  2. Kei's death was executed poorly and was a poor way of starting the plot.
  3. It's kind of slow, but it's also necessary to start things slowing; just means it's not as exciting as the other episodes.
  4. Kei is hard to understand sometimes. His sister kind of is too.
  5. The minor characters are uninteresting and somewhat bland, such as Kei's false friends and his biological mom.
  6. While it focused on Kei the most and a little on Kaito, the later episodes after the few that came after this episode in the season cease to show Kai, and Kei shows up less often which can make him feel less important.

Good Qualities

  1. It's the start of a really cool series.
  2. The opening scene with some ragtag fighters trying to subdue a "Soldier of God" is a great and exciting opening.
  3. The animation is pretty good, though it could have been better.
  4. The premise of the anime is very good and the episode starts off building the world.
  5. The characters introduced are very interesting. Kei can also be relatable for some people.
  6. The voice acting is excellent. Each character has unique enough voices as well as lines.
