The Mighty Ones is a DreamWorks Animation Television series created by Sunil Hall and Lynne Naylor (from The Modifyers and Ren and Stimpy fame), that premiered on November 9th, 2020 on Hulu and Peacock.

Plot

The Mighty Ones follows the hilarious adventures of a group of creatures: a rock, a strawberry, a stick and a leaf. These best friends, self-named The Mighty Ones, live in an unkempt backyard belonging to a trio of equally unkempt humans whom they mistake for gods. Despite their diminutive stature, The Mighty Ones are determined to live life large and always have fun in their wild world.

Bad Qualities

  1. Bad voice acting, even for talented voice actors like Alex Cazares.
  2. The animation, provided by Snipple Animation is average at best, even for 2020 standards.
  3. Some gross humor like vomiting and the characters putting their tongues on sharp items, trying to be like Ren and Stimpy (which coincidentally co-creator Lynne Naylor worked on).
  4. The human characters look straight out of Sanjay and Craig.
  5. The art style looks like it ripped off or is similar to The Mighty B!'s art style. Even the show's name sounds similar to the show that was mentioned in the previous sentence.
  6. The show’s characters can be sometimes selfish and pretty cruel to each other.

Good Qualities

  1. It gives a nostalgic feel of a 2000's Nicktoon, since the creators of the series, Lynne Naylor and Sunil Hall previously worked for Nickelodeon.
  2. The theme song is pretty good.
  3. Some good moments here and there.
  4. Some of the characters, such as Leaf, are likable.
  5. The show improved a bit in the second season.

Reception

The show received mixed-to-negative reviews from critics and viewers. Despite this, it currently has a 7.2/10 on IMDb.
