When editing this wiki stick to shows that are actually bad, regardless if they have a positive or negative reception from critics and audiences.
The main heading to use for each wiki page is "Why It/He/She Sucks" ("Now" if the show or person's decline is continuing to this day) (or "Why These Seasons Suck" for bad seasons if the decline is either temporary or continues to the show's end), with "The Only Redeeming Quality" if there is just one redeeming quality (no alterations are allowed). However, it could be Bad Qualites for any shows that are in the "Average Shows" category. The latter must contain valid and detailed reasons; do your best to avoid generic stuff like "bad acting/animation/soundtrack/etc". Custom headings aren’t allowed due to being completely unnecessary and the potential of users inserting coarse language on the headings. Coloring names aren’t allowed, as pages must be kept simple. Plus, they show up wrong on certain devices.
Web reviewers/YouTubers are not acceptable unless they have an extremely and widely known poor reputation.
Do not create new categories. If you think a new category is needed ask the admins and they'll make it for you if your suggestion proves to be useful.
Do not reupload deleted pages without permission. Also, reverting edits by admins for no given reason will most likely result in a temporary block.
Do not create a page about a series that hasn't been broadcast yet. No exceptions.
Reviews are optional. Though, if you plan to put in the reviews made by critics, it is also OK to take reviews from other sources. However, plagiarism is not acceptable for anything else. If your article is suspected of being plagiarized, it will get deleted.
Rude behavior towards other users will not be accepted. If you are rude towards another user, expect a ban.
We allow memes, but please put them in the “Trivia” section if needed.
Please refrain from swearing in the articles. Swearing in the comment section, however, is allowed as long as it's not used to offend other users.
"At least it's better than..." and "Wasted the talents of..." reasons, as well as terms like "Let that sink in" are not allowed due to being overused, as well as the fact that the show spawned memes under "Redeeming Qualities".
Be as formal as possible when editing.
Removing information or messing with the articles without giving a good reason is considered vandalism and can result in a ban.
Reasons for deleted comments are: malicious propaganda, harassing others, pornography or if the comment makes no sense.
You will always be able to argue about your block on your own message wall, unless what you did was unforgivable.
Episode pages of series that have gone bad or are already bad enough are allowed, as long as they don’t end up cluttering the wiki. Examples include: SpongeBob SquarePants, The Simpsons, The Fairly OddParents, SuperMarioLogan, and Family Guy. If they clutter the wiki, however, most (but not all) such pages will be deleted.
Pages that are not allowed include niche audience shows (though they are not to be worshipped, as it is overly common for users to accuse us of doing so), TV channels (unless they deal with news/sports), and religious news/talk shows such as The 700 Club and The PTL Club. As of July 2019, FuturisticHub-related pages are not allowed due to Miraheze staff requests.
NSFW content is only allowed for pages on NSFW shows, series, or controversies.
Do not add any blog posts that are hit pieces about users you don't like.
In addition, blog posts that pokes fun at users who like the Reception Wikis are also banned due to the rise of drama that took place. Blocks will be handed out to those if they are made on the wikis.
Please do not resort to cancel culture, as it will not resolve anything, except make things even worse. We don't need that.
If you plan on making a sandbox, please do not use it outside of making approved pages or proposed edits to protected pages. If you wish to make unofficial pages, it is recommended to use a blog post for that.
Sandboxes should also not be linked to categories as they messed up the categories and likely flood them, anyone who's still doing that will be blocked for 2 weeks without a warning.
Do not send foe requests to any user, as it will likely cause drama. Likewise, do not continue to bash users long after they've been blocked, as it's considered dead horse beating.
Do not add in the bad qualities that a certain actor is a pedophile/accused of sexual misconduct, as this is not the fault of the show. Anyone who does this will be blocked.
Do not close threads so soon without waiting for someone else to give their two cents.
Do not downvote unpopular opinions in the comments, unless it's for a series or episode with particularly offensive content (such as racial, sexual, or other horrifically offensive stereotypes, as well as pedophilia).
Do not use terms like "Receptiontards, Receptionspregs or Receptionf*gs", as they're nothing but insults to people who like the Reception Wikis and they will likely cause drama.
No harmful and insulting content directed to the wikis and to their users posted off-site will be tolerated; in addition, no excuses like "it's a joke", "it is not to be taken seriously" will be valid. Regarding how old the offending content is, it will be up to the administration staff to decide but know that generally the harmfulness of verifiable malicious content doesn't expire after a certain period of time.
