Infamous pending review

Pierce Ng (talkcontribs)

Everytime I edit, there is a pending review, which can wait for even longer despite the fact that I finished editing, so please remove that thing and make me into an automoderated user (or even better, beaurucrat)?

Carlo Bonomi passed away

MariaJúlia1718 (talkcontribs)

The original voice actor of Pingu, Carlo Bonomi recently died. 2022 is already a bad year to the international voice actors :(

So now that the page about YouTube has been moved here

DeadPixel (talkcontribs)

Can we create a category for YouTube’s downfall? It was a category on the RWW.

SuperStreetKombat (talkcontribs)

Sure, I don't see why not.

FatBurn0000 (talkcontribs)

You could properly import the category.

Change Heading to "Why People Think It Sucks/Rocks"

Summary by Marxo Grouch

Closing to prevent further necroposting.

AlimuDX (talkcontribs)

I suggest changing the headings on these wikis from "Why It Sucks/Rocks" to "Why People Think It Sucks/Rocks" (except maybe not on the Fresh and Rotten Websites wikis).

Why? Consider this: It's not actually a fact that a show, movie, game, etc is good or bad, no matter how many people like or hate it. Even if everyone in the universe hates it, that still doesn't make it a fact. They're just popular opinions.

I got this idea from the ScumBob Wiki (instead of blatantly saying "Why It's ScumBob," they say "Why People Call It ScumBob."

Do you agree with me?

MasterNinjaRy (talkcontribs)

Probably not. Not all people like/hate something, and it is specifically these wiki's community deciding whether or not the piece of media is good or bad.

AlimuDX (talkcontribs)

I thought these wikis were about why they're considered good or bad

ShawnTehLogoBoi (talkcontribs)

Uhh... no.

BaldiBasicsFan (talkcontribs)

Eh, I prefer the headers were used to. Considering that custom headers are allowed now, will think about using the headers.

Wikiti98 (talkcontribs)

Yes I agree. Saying why it sucks Or something like that or why it rocks just sounds biased and makes it the article look like it is forcing you to hate a certain thing. Everyone has their own different tastes on things and no media is perfect. I think what you suggested should be done because the why it sucks stuff or any custom headers by similar to it sounds quite harsh.

BaldiBasicsFan (talkcontribs)

I actually think that using the "Why It Sucks" would just be unfair for some shows to be fair. Barney seasons 9-14 is an example of this.

AlimuDX (talkcontribs)

Glad you see what I mean

NostalgicABao (talkcontribs)

The Why it rocks/sucks term is getting repetitive nowadays. I'd rather use such terms that depend on the main theme of something instead. Why would you think that Why it rocks/sucks is the main heading?

Telsm (talkcontribs)

6 people disagree, but i should agree with this post. actually, i think maybe i’d let it change to something more professional...ish.

how about “problems” for the negative reception wikis to sorta fit the consistency with the “redeeming qualities” header title, or “problems according to reception”. dunno what to choose for the positive reception wikis tho.

I'm considering retiring from reception wikis.

Joshuamk1108 (talkcontribs)

Reasons as to why I'm thinking about this:

1. This community is very toxic, there has been rampant drama such as edit wars and move wars

2. Creating pages and editing them used to be fun for me, but nowadays, it's repetitive, boring, and formulaic

3. Some pages give out invalid reasons to like and hate things, even going so far as to attack people who have opposing opinions

4. Wikis are supposed to give out facts, not opinions

5. These wikis are bad places to give information from

6. To quote from a YouTube user, "We should form our own opinions instead of a biased wiki telling us what to like or hate."

Overall, I'm losing interest in these wikis and considering leaving the reception wiki community.

Which wiki is appropriate for Jerimin Dilao's suicide page?

MariaJúlia1718 (talkcontribs)

I was thinking of putting it on the Rotten Websites Wiki, since she was a PPG YouTuber, but I don't know if it can be put here on the Terrible Shows & Episodes Wiki, since I don't know if it's a dreadful moment in TV history, since The Powerpuff Girls is a cartoon that aired on TV and just like Zamii, where her case was different than Jerimin's, because she was harassed and bullied by toxic Steven Universe fans, because of her SU fanarts, to the point where she tried to commit suicide, but luckily survived, was a fanartist

CRE040295 (talkcontribs)
Ivanov Quirkafleeg (talkcontribs)

Definitely Rotten Websites.

I imported Jerimin's suicide here on this wiki due to the closure of Rotten Websites Wiki

New Rule to add About Making Pages on Episodes

MinecraftWikia2349 (talkcontribs)

Lately I've been seeing that users on this wiki have made pages on Tv show episodes that are actually considered good episodes, I know they've been deleted due to being biased and optioned but users are still making pages on good episodes on a wiki meant for bad episodes of tv shows.

So I figure that the admins should add a rule about making pages on episodes based on reception, If the episode's reception was well received, users aren't allowed to make a page on it, If it the episode's reception was negatively received or has mixed reception and fans don't really like it then it would have a page on here.

Note: IMDb's reception might not be accurate to the fan reception because sometimes a bad episode of a show might have a high rating then what the fandom's real thoughts on it.

Marxo Grouch (talkcontribs)

Pretty sure we already have that as a rule for every single page on this wiki.

Toxic Rugrats (2021) hater

MariaJúlia1718 (talkcontribs)

If the Rugrats (2021) page should be created here in this wiki after the successful poll to remove the reboot from Best Shows & Episodes Wiki, it should be added in the reboot's page here on TTS&EW, in the trivia category about a very dangerous hater of the 2021 reboot called buttercups1121 who got arrested in this year for making homophobic attacks against the reboot and the Klasky Csupo crew, but also trashed Tara Strong (who wasn't involved with the reboot for known reasons, outed the user for his attacks), Charlie Adler (the voice director of the reboot) and users like Zac L. from Twitter, being a very toxic John Kricfalusi fan (which he gives a bad name to John's still fans who are not toxic like me), and other nasty stuff he did.

Telsm (talkcontribs)

my god. glad i’m not like him

Wikiti98 (talkcontribs)

Man a lot of things are going wrong for both Hollywood studios and networks and media fanbases. If Hollywood is going to have any chance of saving then the fans need to change first. This fan in particular displayed behavior that was completely unacceptable.

Marxo Grouch (talkcontribs)

I would lay off of adding it, especially since buttercup wasn't a part of production. Simply being a hater of the reboot does not guarantee noteworthy trivia material.

MariaJúlia1718 (talkcontribs)

Agreed, given his dangerous behavior and he wasn't involved with the reboot, is better not add in the trivia section. I don't know it should be added in the reception category, but it will not be added

Wikiti98 (talkcontribs)

I think this fan’s bad behavior should instead be placed in the category of dreadful moments in tv history

MariaJúlia1718 (talkcontribs)

I agree with you. Is better to make a page about the person's dangerous behavior towards the Klasky Csupo crew, because of his hatred against the Rugrats reboot here

YouKonade (talkcontribs)

Where should Netflix's new cartoon go?

ILoveYuuRaichiXCanon (talkcontribs)

I haven't seen much of Netflix's new animated series Dead End" Paranormal Park, though the reviews on it look pretty polarizing. There are people saying it's good because it's a family-oriented show that tackles mature themes such as mental illness and people saying it sucks because it's "woke". Right now, it has a 5.7/10 on IMDb and a 94% on Google. I guess we might have to wait a while in regards of which wiki this show will go?

Marxo Grouch (talkcontribs)

Google user ratings are unreliable since they've been known to give high ratings to products that everyone else hates.

SuperStreetKombat (talkcontribs)

Dunno what that is.

BaldiBasicsFan (talkcontribs)

Have not seen it, so it could be debatable.
