Shuriken Sentai Ninninger (手裏剣戦隊ニンニンジャー, Shuriken Sentai Ninninjā) is a Japanese television series, the 39th entry of Toei's long-running Super Sentai metaseries, following Ressha Sentai ToQger. It is the third ninja-based Sentai, and the fourth to be based on Japanese mythology and culture (after Samurai Sentai Shinkenger) and premiered on, February 22, 2015, joining Kamen Rider Drive, and later, Kamen Rider Ghost in the Super Hero Time line-up on TV Asahi affiliate stations, until concluding on February 7, 2016. Ninninger also serves as the 40th anniversary of the franchise. The lead screenwriter for the series is Kento Shimoyama and Kousuke Yamashita serves as the series' composer. Its footage is used for the 2017/2018 American Power Rangers season, Power Rangers Ninja Steel and its follow-up season, Power Rangers Super Ninja Steel.

Why It Never Fired Up

  1. It copied most of the elements from Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger and pasted them onto here.
  2. The rangers and villains range from extremely unlikable to very boring, (with the exception of Kasumi Momochi/MomoNinger, Kinji Takigawa/StarNinger, Kyuemon and Mangetsu), due to terrible acting and bad acting.
  3. This season has some of the worst episodes in any season of Super Sentai to date.
  4. The newer and better characters in this season such as Mangetsu, despite appearing for a short amount of episodes.
  5. The characters were pretty unlikable such as, also marking the Ninningers as the least likeable team of a modern day sentai.
    • Takaharu Igasaki/AkaNinger (Red) is, by far, the worst Red Ranger in Super Sentai to date. He's an obnoxious loudmouth who never gets to be wrong no matter how stupid his decisions may be.
    • Yakumo Katou/AoNinger (Blue) is a useless Blue Ranger and all he cares about is magic and his annoying catchphrase "It's Easy", will get on your nerves within 5 seconds.
    • Nagi Matsuo/Kininger (Yellow) (while not an awful character), is the least developed, notably having the least memorable moments to be found within the show.
    • Fuuka Igasaki/ShiroNinger (White) served zero purpose in the show and acts more as a burden to the team rather than a well-needed ally.
    • Yoshitaka is a very useless mentor like Gosei from Power Rangers Megaforce, as he barely does anything to help the Ninningers whatsoever.
  6. It holds the title of the worst Sentai ever to exist up to this day. It has ratings worse than Carranger (despite the act that Carranger was one of the funniest seasons.).
  7. It teamed up with the infamous Ressha Sentai ToQger, for those who didn't like ToQger may mark it as the worst sentai crossover in the franchise's history.
  8. Takaharu's sudden marriage in Zyuohger vs Ninninger felt like it came out of nowhere. Hell, there wasn't even a brief explanation of how they got married.
  9. Horrendous mecha designs, (excluding Lion Ha-Oh)
  10. The Last Ninja Contest was stupid and pointless.
  11. The second half of the show aired alongside episodes 1-17 of Kamen Rider Ghost with some considering it to be, if not. The worst Super Hero Time line up.
  12. The finale was awful, as it was a "Friends we made along the way" type of ending, which added 0 closure to the show.
  13. Its toyline sold extremely badly since Mirai Sentai Timeranger (despite the act that Timeranger was an amazing season.)
  14. Their epilogue film, "Come Back! Shuriken Sentai Ninninger: Ninnin Girls vs. Boys FINAL WARS", was nothing but a sexist film!

Redeeming Qualities

  1. The theme song and ending song were very awesome to listen to.
  2. There are some likable characters in this season, such as Nagi Matsuo/KiNinger, Kasumi Momochi/MomoNinger, Kinji Takigawa/StarNinger, Kyuuemon, and Mangetsu.
  3. The movies are way better than the show itself, as the Ninningers act like actual ninjas.
    • It's also much better than Ninja Steel, as it barley utilized the ninja elements from this season.
  4. The suit designs are at least nice to look at.
  5. At least the final battle with Ariake no Kata and Mangetsu was way better than the final battle with Gengetsu Kibaoni, the main villain of the season.
  6. The appearances of previous Sentai stars, like NinjaRed and HurricaneRed, and Jiraiya, whose appearance came out of nowhere.
  7. On 38th Episode, It features a guest appearance from Hiroya Matsumoto, reprising his role as Tsubasa Ozu/MagiYellow from Mahou Sentai Magiranger. It's great to see him back. and his appearance came out of nowhere.
  8. Yoshi Sudarso of Power Rangers Dino Charge appeared during a crossover episode with Jiraiya, making him the first time a Power Rangers actor can be seen in the Super Sentai show. His brother will later on play as Yakumo's Power Rangers counterpart in the new show 2 years later after Dino Charge.
  9. First team to begin with five members that don't include a Green or Black Ranger.
  10. It had a decent crossover with Kamen Rider Drive.
  11. Some fans of the Super Sentai series may enjoy it.
