"Mikey Gets Shellacne" is the 5th episode of Season 2 of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2012) and the 31st overall.

Michelangelo is tired of being the "runt of the litter." But when he fools around with some mutagen, he gets a dangerous infection that is mutating out of control.

Why Mikey's Acne Needs To Be Popped

  1. This is basically a 22-minute long Michelangelo torture episode.
  2. A lot of plot holes.
  3. Mikey looks very ugly with the zits he got all over his body.
  4. The episode starts off with Mikey screaming with his zits everywhere obnoxiously loud, which is extremely annoying, that you might wish you were deaf.
  5. The turtles told Splinter that Mikey had the zits, but he doesn't know how he got them.
  6. Leo and Raph don't even help Mikey get rid of his zits, and there was no way to get them off.
  7. Horrible writing, which stays false to the series.
  8. There is an extremely disturbing and hard to watch scene where Mikey has too many zits growing all over and covering him throughout the episode.
  9. Raph, Donnie, and Leo are not sympathetic to Mikey with his zits all over him.
  10. The part where the villains beat up Mikey because of having zits all over his body does not even get his zits off.

Redeeming Qualities

  1. Mikey starts to feel better at the end.
  2. There were no scenes where Mikey's zits pop off.
  3. Leo, Donnie, and Raph feel very sorry for Mikey about the zits he got, despite no explanation about how he got them.
  4. This episode introduced Rahzar, a recurring and great villain.

Also, in TMNT 2: Secret of the Ooze, Rahzar is a mutant wolf. His appearance in this series resembles a wolf like his original counterpart, though he is a super mutant akita dog.
