Get The Gimmies (The Berenstain Bears, 2003)
And they'll be no Treats for a week, A MONTH, A YEAR
Series: The Berenstain Bears (2003)
Part of Season: 1
Episode Number: 24
Air Date: February 7, 2003
Writer: Jennifer Pertsch

Get the Gimmies is the 24th episode of Season 1 in The Berenstain Bears, which first aired on February 7, 2003.

Why It Has No Treats For A Week

Papa Bear, Is punishing Brother and Sister a good idea?
  1. This episode is a torture episode for Brother and Sister.
  2. Papa Bear has been flanderized in this episode, as he grounds Brother and Sister for not saying hello to Gramps and Gran (as seen on the picture below).
  3. This episode removes scenes like, Brother and Sister get some stuff they want, and leave the supermarket after they see a cub throwing a temper tantrum. In the show they are giving some toys to the cubs at the hospital, in fact the cubs do not see another cub in the store throwing a tantrum.
  4. Mama and Papa got mad at Brother and Sister for getting those Kitty Cats.
  5. While the episode tries to send a message by saying you can't have everything you want all the time, it's poorly executed to the point where it doesn't encourage anyone to learn their lessons.

Redeeming Qualities

  1. The episode was decent until Brother and Sister got the Gimmies.
  2. The flashback where, Papa Bear, when he was a cub he would sometimes throw a temper tantrum in a general store, while his parents did buy him the toy he wanted, Papa saw another cub his age whose mama did not have enough money to buy because of Poverty what he wanted is a good scene,
  3. The ending was decent as the cubs learned a new lesson about not throwing any tantrums.
  4. The episode did try to teach kids about being respectful when it comes to greeting others and not constantly badgering people to get the things that they want.
