Fake News is the 71st episode of Season 7 of Oggy and the Cockroaches.

Plot

When Joey demands for a sandwich, Oggy refuses and beats up the roaches. Afterwards, the roaches make a fake news video about Joey demanding a food and start to go viral.

Why It Shouldnʼt Go Viral

  1. The roaches are mean-spirited and unlikeable as they created a viral video about Oggy swatting the roaches as they beg for food.
    • Likewise, Oggy and Jack are somewhat mean-spirited as they refuse to give Joey some food.
  2. The people in Animville are unlikable as they restrain the roaches from getting attacked by Oggy or Jack.
  3. The premise is awful as the characters are scared of getting viral in the video.
  4. This is an Oggy and Jack torture episode as they take care of the roaches instead of hurting them when the crowd arrives.
  5. The entire episode is mean-spirited, especially in the second half.
  6. The roaches became loyal because of posting a viral video about the said scene where Oggy attacks the roaches.
  7. Misleading Title Card: The title card depicts Oggy being famous, and it took place in Hollywood, but this doesn't appear at all.
    • There is also an error on the title card, as the "N" in "News" isn't capitalized.
  8. Half-Bad Ending: After Oggy and Jack dressed up as cute cats, the crowd chases them when they saw a better video than the viral one.

Redeeming Qualities

  1. Oggy and Jack are likable characters.
  2. At least they know how to fix this problem by dressing up as cute cats to make people happy.
  3. Half-Decent Ending: Before the crowd chases them, they created these so that they can attract people after they throw the roaches inside the trash. The roaches also laugh at them getting chased by people.
