On December 22, 2020, veteran Nickelodeon animator Tuck Tucker died at age 59 in Lynchburg, Virginia. Known for his work in SpongeBob SquarePants and Hey Arnold! from Nickelodeon, he also worked in the other shows like Rugrats, The Ren & Stimpy Show, The Simpsons, Clarence and Aaahh! Real Monsters. In films, he was the director of Hey Arnold! The Movie in 2002 and was the breakdown and in between artist of The Little Mermaid in 1989.

Various of the people who worked in SpongeBob SquarePants and Hey Arnold! they sent their condolences on his tragic death. Hey Arnold! creator, Craig Bartlett and even Nickelodeon Animation Studio, as well sent their condolences to him. His final work was The Bob's Burgers Movie, which was released on May 27, 2022, after delays due to COVID-19, served in the film as a storyboard revisionist.
