Death of Steve Cash

On April 16, 2020, YouTube sensation Steve Cash, who is known for his Talking Kitty Cat videos, died at the age of 40. The cause of death was a gunshot to the chest, according to the Canyon County Coroner's Office report obtained by PEOPLE.

"This is so hard." Steve's wife, Celia Cash said. "I'm not even sure what to say or for that matter, what to do. I just lost my best friend, my sidekick, my lover, my mentor, my absolute everything, this morning. I'm so sad to say, my husband, Steve Cash took his own life this morning… It hurts me to share this. Please understand, give the family time to grieve, but know that Steve is no longer in pain."

Cash's "Talking Kitty Cat" series, in which he'd engage in funny "conversations" and situations with his cat Sylvester, featured 69 different videos. The first one was published in 2008, and the final one was posted in December 2019. Cash's Cat, Sylvester, died 7 Months later on December 10 at the age of 13.
