Death of Nádia Carvalho
On July 11, 2022, Brazilian voice actress Nádia Carvalho died at age 67, victim of a stroke. Her death was announced by some Brazilian voice actors on social media. She was known for voicing actresses like Diane Keaton, Yvette Nicole Brown, Daphne Reid, Christine Baranski and characters like Sid's Granny from the two last films of Ice Age made by Blue Sky Studios, Dexter's Mom from Dexter's Laboratory, Mrs. Tweedy from Chicken Run, Illaoi from League of Legends, Lin Bei Fong from The Legend of Korra, Miss Clavel from Madeline, Lady Tremaine, Cinderella's stepmother from the Cinderella sequels, Gladys from Over the Hedge, Nora Beady from Barnyard and Back at the Barnyard, Svetlana from Ratz, Mae from The Lion King 1½, Nanny from Muppet Babies, Lee Kanker from Ed, Edd n Eddy, Vó from Historietas Assombradas Para Crianças Malcriadas, Fa Li from Mulan and most famously Edna E. Mode from The Incredibles. She also acted in Escolinha do Professor Raimundo as Santinha Pureza.
According to Fernando Mendonça, she suffered the stroke days ago and she was in the hospital because of it. Nizo Neto, Nádia's ex-husband on his Instagram made a tribute to her and he lamented she was not recognized.
