Brain Squeezers is the 10th episode of Season 4 of Victorious and the 57th overall.

When Tori is selected to be the team captain for a new game show, she must choose three of her friends to compete with her.

Why It Squeezes Viewers' Brains

  1. Tori's friends are all jerks in this episode.
  2. Tori and Jade were the most unlikable in this episode (with the former at her worst).
    • Tori keeps bragging about how she got the spot for the show despite not being so much of a big deal.
    • Jade makes a fake school ID with Tori’s name on it just to take over Tori’s team. (Shame on Dan Schneider for this very poor writing)
  3. Everybody gets severely harmed on the game show Brain Squeezers without any explanation.
  4. Brain Squeezers doesn't get sued or at least banned. In fact, a game show that allows contestants to get hurt shouldn't exist at all and would be banned in real life.
  5. Each of the "doinks" the characters get for wrong answers are actually very dangerous to the point where the viewer would have to ponder how nobody got injured or even died:
    • Most of these doinks can result into a very serious brain injury and can get hospitalized for a very very long time, or in some cases they can result into death.
    • Getting sprayed with pus is dangerous on eye contact.
    • Dropping nuts, bolts and batteries on the head is brutally fatal.
    • A toilet or a car battery dropped on the head causes mild concussions and is brutally fatal.
    • A bowling ball hit on the stomach is extremely dangerous causing broken ribs or not able to walk.
    • Dropping salt on someone can burn someone’s eyes.
    • Getting punched so hard on the chin can break your neck.
  6. This episode condones violence.
  7. The fact that Tori's friends were excited that she invited them to her team for Brain Squeezers even though it's a show where contestants get severely hurt doesn't make any sense.
  8. Tori boasting about how she got a spot in the game show gets pretty annoying.
  9. A laugh track plays every-time a character gets very injured meaning that this episode relies on cruelty and violence for comedy.
  10. The host is extremely unlikable as he shows no remorse for the gang getting severely hurt.
  11. The acting in this episode is horrible.
  12. Sinjin got hurt, even though he didn't completely answer the question, and they didn't even give him credit if it was even right.
  13. The soundtrack is somehow awful in this episode instead of amazing like it usually is.
  14. To top it off, the ending is just cruel and infuriating: Tori's team manages to win; however, when the host tells Tori to grab the $10,000, she has to get it in only 10 seconds, while having a buff and strong guy lie on top of her. Unable to even get out from under the guy, Tori fails to get the money and all 8 constants are hurt and humiliated and left with empty hands.
    • Why didn't anyone else grab the money when the host left them behind?
  15. $10,000 is definitely not enough money for something like this.

Redeeming Qualities

  1. The sumo wrestler is played by former WWE, WCW, and TNA wrestler Solofa "Rikishi" Fatu Jr. of the famous Anoai-Miavia Samoan Wrestling Family (which also included Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Nia Jax, Roman Reigns, and The Usos).
  2. To be fair, nobody really deserve the money because of their unlikability. But still, they didn't deserve to have the stuff dropped on them.
  3. Cat's pronunciation of Hawaii is somewhat funny, depending on your view.

Despite the 7.5 on IMDb, reception for this episode was largely negative, most finding the plot to be nonsensical, stakeless, and cruel especially the ending, despite some amusement at the dark comedy.
