Bobolândia Monstrolândia is a Brazilian animated series co-produced by 44 Toons and TV Cultura, premiering in June 9, 2018 on the public channel, with a season of 26 episodes lasting 11 minutes each. On May 1, 2019, it was broadcast on Nickelodeon.

The series talks about the life of Otto, a boy who lives between two extreme worlds, a magical city with two facets: one during the day and one during the night. Under the sun, the city full of rules is perfect, the residents are sweet and kind, everything is naive and romantic. But, under the light of the moon, the city turns into a monster city, and the residents, into supernatural creatures.

Why It Sucks

  1. Awful animation like any other 44 Toons cartoons.
  2. The characters are very generic and one-dimensional.
    • Otto is a very mild and cliché protagonist similar to Henry Hart of Henry Danger.
    • Loberto is Otto's silly standard comic relief friend.
    • Witchelly is a Mary-sue, it is even more unpleasant in its Bobolandia version.
  3. Plot hole: How is Otto not affected by the change of the city?
  4. it gets boring very fast.
  5. Excessive use of references to pop culture like the other cartoon created by Ale Mchaddo.
  6. Most episodes are boring and bland.
  7. Poorly attempts at humor.
  8. The show used to have a lot of reruns on Nickelodeon every weekend, until getting replaced by Os Under Undergrounds in late-2020.

Redeeming Qualities

  1. Decent voice acting.
  2. The animation is considered an improvement compared to Newbie and the Disasternauts and Osmar the First Slice of the Loaf.
  3. Great theme song.
