Horrid Henry and Family Guy made similar plots to this a few years prior, and they worked well; this episode's plots do not.

Sneakily Aggravated Mr. Kat and an Idiotically Mischievous Caillou in: “The Curse of the Early Summer Meal Gathering” + Mario and Luigi is an episode from the eighth season of The Crazy-Ass Group Show: The Series, Television Presentation.

Plot

Being forced to take part in the early summer meal gathering as announced by the Crazy-Ass Group Assembly, Mr Kat and Caillou thought out a plan to ruin it. Meanwhile, Mario and Luigi accidentally shrunk themselves into beetle-size proportions, and they must figure out how to return to normal before it’s too late.

Why It Sucks

  1. This episode's 2 plots completely rehash other episodes from other shows. The main plot rehashes the Season 1 Horrid Henry episode, “Horrid Henry's Wedding”, while the subplot rehashes the Season 17 Family Guy episode, “Big Trouble in Little Quahog”, right down to the ending and the table scene.
  2. Mr. Kat and Caillou were extremely unlikable in this episode since they ruined the gathering all because they were forced to. Sure, outside gatherings can be boring at times, but the fact that Mr Kat and Caillou are willing to destroy such a peaceful moment for the group on their day off is horrible.
  3. There is a scene of Bowser ordering McDonald's for him, his son Junior and the Koopalings, and it’s complete filler, his order includes:
    • 9 McDoubles
    • 2 Quarter-Pounds
    • A large coke
    • A medium coke
    • 7 small cokes
    • 2 large fries
    • 6 medium fries
    • A small fries
  4. The subplot can be seen as a torture episode for Mario and Luigi.
  5. As usual there are some pointless filler scenes, these include:
    • Bomb having sex with Agnes.
    • The aforementioned McDonalds scene
    • Alastor and Randy Marsh riding a jetski, with Bubbles as their captain.
    • Toad browsing through Twitter
    • Wario and Waluigi swimming in money.
    • Peach and Daisy have a heated argument, later they decided to have a twerk off.
    • The Among Us characters raiding a Wendy's.
    • Peter Griffin making a Disney+ subscription.
    • Ness and Alisa Bosconovitch visiting a seafood restaurant in their hometown of Miami, Florida.
    • Male Robin and Female Robin (Both from Fire Emblem) singing "Hatrid Mun Sigra" by Hatari for no reason at all (albeit translated into English).
    • Nicole Watterson buys a lot of cotton candy, Then she eats it and becomes hyper.
    • Brazil and Maddie have a heated argument and fight each other.
  6. There is an unnecessary amount of inappropriate scenes in this episode.
    • Mario and Luigi nearly get stepped by Peach while looking for her shoes that were allegedly stolen by Daisy after their argument (although they thankfully made it out alive).
    • A rather controversial scene in which Blake and Helen Henny (shown in her Cheerleader design) are shown eroectly moaning, followed by a scene of Blake saying to Chuck E. (in his Avenger design) that he just fucked his girlfriend, implying that Blake engaged in bestiality.
    • In the Table Scene:
      • Rapunzel takes her shoe off and puts her foot inside her other shoe (which was still occupied by her other foot)
      • Caillou laughing while staring at Cinderella and Rapunzel’s feet as they unknowingly fit into each other’s shoes.
    • Wario trying to fart like a rocket
    • Peach doing her nails. On original storyboards, Luigi was supposed to get an erection doing this scene, although it was fortunately scrapped.
    • A close up of Daisy's butt during the argument.
    • A close up of Cinderella and Rapunzel’s feet after they find out why their feet hurt (as they sit on the grass).
    • Ness and Alisa getting drunk at the seafood restaurant.
  7. The Table scene not only copies the aforementioned scene from the Horrid Henry episode “Horrid Henry's Wedding”, but it single-handedly retconned the entire “Forgiveness Arc” from the previous season, where Mr Kat had to apologize to Cinderella and Rapunzel in Hawaii after he leaked their feet pics. While here, this episode acts like it never happened.
  8. Bad Ending: Mr. Kat and Caillou were never punished for what they did, making them Karma Houdini's.
    • Although not as bad as Mr. Kat and Caillou, Peach and Daisy never apologized to each other following their argument; Daisy in particular never got any repercussions for stealing Peach’s high heels.
  9. The episode made a questionable choice to change the narrator from John Sparkles to Joanna Lumley for this episode only; although, positive-wise, the repetitive nature has been toned down here.
  10. Plot Hole: How did Peach and Daisy get into an argument?

Redeeming Qualities

  1. While a rehash of the Season 17 Family Guy episode, “Big Trouble in Little Quahog”, the subplot is stiller a lot better than the main plot.
  2. Mario, Luigi, Cinderella, Rapunzel, Horrid Henry, Chuck E, Helen Henny and Peter Griffin are still likable characters.
    • The narrator is also likable, and Lumley's performance is also pretty good.
  3. Horrid Henry's line "Wait, haven’t a done this before?" is hilarious.
  4. Mario and Luigi turn back to normal size in the end.

Trivia

  • At the table scene, the row of shoes that were unoccupied is shown in HBO Max as well as US broadcasting. In most international releases, this was changed to where people still have their shoes on
    • Outside of US broadcasting, only the German, French, Arabic, Italian, Dutch, Japanese, European Spanish, Canadian French, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, Thai, Malay and Persian (the legal dub that airs on IRIB TV1) dubs retain the US version.
  • The scene implying Blake engaged in bestiality is cut in international prints.
  • This episode marks Peach, and Daisy's first appearances in Season 8, and they were given slight modifications to their designs. Cinderella, Rapunzel, Mario, Luigi and Blake's designs were also slightly modified. This could be due to it being the first episode of the season in production order.
    • Peach:
      • Her outfit is now a darker shade of pink, straying away from her Super Smash Bros. look, and more with her modern Super Mario series look.
      • Her pedicure is now pink, whereas in the previous 7 seasons it was red.
    • Daisy:
      • Her outfit is now a darker shade of orange, straying away from her Super Smash Bros. look, and more with her modern Super Mario series look.
      • She now has her crown from the Super Mario series, where it was previously just copy and pasted from Peach's.
    • Cinderella:
      • Her hair is now a slightly darker shade of blonde.
      • She is permanently given long, thin gloves, in reference to the 1950 film of her name.
    • Rapunzel:
      • She is permanently given shoes starting in this episode, which are people flats, in reference to her 2012 redesign on Disney media.
      • She now has purple toenail polish, whereas, in this previous season, they were unpainted and were instead traditional French nails.
    • Mario's overall buttons are now gold instead of sliver.
    • Luigi's overall buttons are now gold instead of silver.
    • Blake now gains the ponytail he got starting in season 2 of his show.
  1. The title is different in some international releases.
    • In the Icelandic and Russian dubs, the titles literally mean “Stop it, you Two!”. The Icelandic title is “Hættu Þessu, þið Tveir!”, while the Russian title is «Прекратите, вы Двое!»
    • In the Danish dub, the title is “Hr. Kat og Caillou, Lusket Duo”, which means “Mr. Kat and Caillou, Sneaky Duo”, which is also the British English title of the episode.
