Thomas & Friends: All Engines Go! is a 2021 2D animated children's television series, that serves as a spin-off of the original Thomas & Friends series that ran from 1984 to 2021. The series was originally set to be the show's twenty-fifth season before Mattel Television confirmed that it was a separate series altogether. In addition, it was introduced "an entirely new approach to Thomas & Friends content," with a new animation style and story structure. Unlike the original series, All Engines Go! was developed in North America rather than in the United Kingdom.
The show was leaked on October 12, 2020, and it received a poor response from the fans, and with the trailer was teased on January 27, 2021, it received mixed reviews from critics, but gained widespread negative reactions from fans, and parents alike. On the same day on the Mexican release, it was widely panned by the fans, and it is considered to be the worst kids-reboot show ever made. It received an amount of backlash for lack of realism, characters, called the new animation style "menacing," "sinister" and "frightening," while others said their children who were fans of the original series were "upset" and "devastated" after viewing the material.
