Ah yes, apparently a 10 minute scene of a minor character going fishing is supposed to be entertaining.

Part of Season: 7

Shrek Gets Booted Off Netflix is an episode of the seventh season of The Crazy-Ass Group Show: The Series, Television Presentation.

Plot

After Shrek gets kicked out of Netflix, he must find another streaming service to keep his movies afloat.

Why It Sucks

  1. The episode is notorious for having a 10 minute long scene of Steve fishing for lost Netflix DVD's as Shrek is having a conversation with him. This scene's duration takes up about 40% of the entire episode's runtime, which is just unacceptable.
    • In fact, this scene has too many background gags going on, these include:
      • The Among Us characters skydiving.
      • Red, Chuck and Bubbles riding a unicycle.
      • Bomb drawing porn on Agnes (a.k.a his ice cream).
      • Mickey Mouse riding a jetski.
      • Roley blasting Bohemian Rhapsody so that he doesn’t have to hear Lofty crying his eyes out.
      • Mira practicing K-Pop dances.
      • Talking Ben thinking about converting to Atheism.
      • Yoshi talking to Shadow the Hedgehog.
      • Merida and Moana having a potato-sack race.
      • Mr. Kat trying to act like a fish.
      • Loona tap-dancing.
      • Alisa Bosconovitch having a picnic with Patrick Star.
      • Ness and Toon Link playing Rock Paper Scissors.
      • Alastor and Randy Marsh exercising.
      • Nicole Watterson and The San Antonio Spurs Coyote giving people lemonade as they are running their lemonade stand.
      • Quack jumping on a trampoline.
  2. While Steve isn't necessarily unlikable here, having him as one of the main characters of the episode is a pretty questionable choice since he is a bland character who doesn’t appear in many episodes.
  3. The Netflix Executive is a really unlikable one-time character as he constantly makes questionable remarks about Shrek, while also firing him.
  4. The subplot of Rapunzel and Cinderella trying to relax at the beach is short, lasting about 8 minutes.
    • Speaking of which, most of it is a clip show relating to Rapunzel and Cinderella recalled their previous adventures.
    • This subplot still retain its infamous running gag revolving them, as there were at least 10 close-ups of their feet.
  5. Plot Holes:
    • Aren't Netflix DVDs not real? If so, Steve should have stopped fishing after like 30 seconds.
    • How did Cinderella’s glass slippers not reflect sunlight? Especially since the beach she and Rapunzel is in was facing in the southwest direction from the sun's position at the beach. Although this could be justified since we don’t want to see Cinderella's eyes getting burned.
    • How did Steve's boat not capsize when Mickey races on his jetski?
    • How did Shrek get fired? It was never explained.
    • How come Bomb never used a table for his paper so that he could draw Agnes? Without a table, his paper would have gotten holes from his pen.
  6. Bad Ending: Shrek finds out his fourth movie is still on Netflix, which makes the entire episode pointless.

Redeeming Qualities

  1. Shrek and Steve are still likable here.
    • Cinderella and Rapunzel are also tolerable here.
  2. In a rare case of continuity, Cinderella and Rapunzel are still shown to be in Hawaii following Mr. Kat's mean-spirited prank.
  3. The subplot, while short, is still a little better than the main plot.
